Thank you to everyone to come by and
donated on the 8th with out you we could not continue to have successful blood
drives. Our goal was set at 15 for this drive and we was able to get a total of
13 donations. Although not the amounts that we have had at past drives we still
had a good turn out even with the cold weather. Thank you to everyone that
braved the weather and stopped in to help us to continue to save lives. We are
looking forward to the next blood drive which is scheduled for April 30, 2010
in the same location at the American Legion Hall in Brazoria from 9:30 to 2:00.Thank you and GOD BLESS.

First and foremost we would like to
thank everyone who come out and made our first ever blood drive a great
success. We had a goal of 20 donors and was able to get a total of 25. With
everyone that come to donate we are able to help save many lives. Along with
helping to save lives we were also able help a young lady going through chemo
for Stage 4 renal cell carcinoma, a common form of kidney cancer. For each
donation we received on April 24th she will receive a $20 voucher to be placed
toward her medical bills. We are looking forward to our next blood drive on
August 14, 2009 and hope to see all of you there plus more. Please be sure to
come back and visit our website for we will be posting photos from the recent
blood drive soon. Thank you and GOD BLESS.

We have plans to return to Shriners
Burn Unit in Galveston 10/30/2008 to distribute stuffed animals and goodies.
With the recent hurricane having made landfall on Galveston Island, our plans
may be placed on hold. We will continue to stay in contact with Shriners for
updates on their status. Our prayers are with them and we look forward to
returning and spending time with the children.

On May 29th through June 1st three
members of Carl Cares Bears were able to attend and volunteer at a camp for
burn survivors called Camp Janus. While here we were able to interact with the
kids and enjoy all of the many activities the camp had for them. As you will
see in the many photos, each and every child had a wonderful time. We have
committed to volunteering for Camp Janus annually. Please take the time to look
at all the photo's under the Camp Janus tab. Also, feel free to visit the web site
for Camp Janus (www.campjanus.org).
Maybe you too would like to volunteer in the future. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS.

We are proud to announce we have
recently been chosen to present our organization to the local Lions Club of
Brazoria on April 14th. It is such a blessing to have family and friends in the
community helping us to spread our organization throughout. Again, we never
thought our small family organization would grow as big as it has. THANK YOU
AND GOD BLESS.
One other thing we have noticed that
we have failed to give special thanks to the our friends that took time out of
their already busy schedules and went to the Hospital and worked with us to
give out the stuffed animals and many other donation that was given to us. WE
WANT TO TAKE THIS TIME TO SAY THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO DOING
THE SAME WITH YOU IN THE FUTURE.

We would like to apologize to
everyone for overlooking the fact that your IP address was being attached after
signing our guestbook. As soon as someone brought it to our attention we
immediately fixed it. For safety reasons (i.e., hackers) it is not a good idea
to have your IP address attached to anything. Do feel confident that this has
been corrected and will no longer be an issue. So if you were hesitant in
signing the guestbook due to the IP address being attached, please revisit it
and sign.
God Bless you all.
On another note...
We would like to THANK YOU ALL for
the items you have donated for our upcoming visit on Friday. It is such an
AWESOME feeling when you have so many items that 2 vehicles are needed to
transport all of them. So keep a watch out for an update and photos after
Friday's visit.
GOD BLESS

As of a week ago we weregiven the ok
to visit againon Friday, February 1, 2008. We will be distributing stuffed
animals as well as presenting each and every patient with a Valentine card,
treats, and prize from Carl Cares Bears. Each patient will also be given
Valentine cards and postage stamps in order for them to present cards to their
friends and family.
Some of you may not be aware, but
the majority of the patients are there without family. Mostare from different
states and even Mexico, which makes family visitation virtually impossible for
most.
Patients may range from the age of
infancy to 18, so anything that we can doto puts a smile on their face means so
much.
At the same time we received the ok
for Valentines Day we also received the ok to continue our mission each and
every holiday, such as Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and of course
Christmas.
Over the last month and a half since
the first time we went to Shriners we have had an amazing response to
e-mails,web ads and even by word of mouth of people wishing to help and donate
to our cause. One individaul committed to sewing Valentine bags for all the
children.
We never would have imagined we
could grow so quickly, but then again, I guess we did.... because we put it all
in God's hands. Everyone's thoughts, prayers, compassion and selfless act of
giving are greatly appreciated. YOU are a link that helps make Carl Cares Bears
complete.
THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS.

On December 13, 2007 we visted
Shriners Childrens Burn Hospital in Galveston, Texas and distributed stuffed
animals of all types and sizes.
We were blessed with the opportunity
to interact with some of the patients through game playing, crafts, or just
casual conversation.
During this time we were also able
to take a few photos of some of the patients we gave bears to. All photos taken
that day are posted in our photo album. Please feel free to check them out.
Looking at the photos you will see
the joy in the patients faces as well as ours.
After leaving hospital that
afternoon we vowed to continue visiting and distributing bears for as long as
God will allow us.
We had such a great time. We had a
smile on our faces for a long time. Just seeing the kids faces light up as they
chose the bear of their liking was a gift of a lifetime.
We definitely look forward to our
next visit with them.
THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS.
