Tia is one of the patients that Cherie was overseeing and during her stay at Texas Childrens Cherie became very attached to her. During this time Cherie told her mother about our organization and let her know that if there was anything at all we could help out with to please let us know. While explaining to her what we are about the mother let her know that Tia could really use a computer to do her homework once she was back home. Cherie then contacted me(Sean) asking if I knew of anyone that would like to donate a computer to Tia. God must have known this was coming because not long before this a gentleman contacted me about refurbishing computers and was willing to donate to our organization. With the help of this gentleman we were able to deliver Tia a computer along with speakers, a screen, a mouse and a pritnter. Below is a story that Tia wrote and shared with the nurses and Doctors at Texas Childrens, it touched Cherie's heart so much that she asked the mother if we could share on our site. I am sure you will enjoy it just as much as we did.

A New Beginning
By: Tia Reado
My name is Tia Reado.
I am 9 years old.
I have a heart condition.
This is my story.
I was diagnosed with a enlarged heart December 4, 2005. I really dont remember a whole lot but living a normal life and taking my medicine two times a day.
Sometimes I had to go to the hospital and I will get an echo. This will take pictures of my heart. The nurse will get her gel and put it on her wand and rub it on my heart and that takes pictures. You have to hold still but don't worry it's not scary. One day I had to get a defibrillator because the left side of my heart wasn't functioning right. I had to go in the Cath-Lab to get this done. I had to get some relaxing medicine through my mask. I got to pick a flavor for my mask, I got to sniff all the flavors, it was fun. This relaxing medicine made me feel strange and funny but it made me go to sleep. After, I got the defibrillator the problem was still going. So finally the doctors told me I had get a heart transplant. So I had to wait, it got boring but I had to be patient. The child life people had help me feel comfortable. After I waited Cori had call me and told me they had a heart for me. This made me feel so jolly and happy. I called everybody in my family and told them they all came up here. When Cori came in my room she said it was time to go to the OR this made me feel a little nervous but I got over it. I said bye to all my family and got on the bed and they wheeled me to the OR. They gave me some relaxing medicine. This made me feel sleepy. When I woke up from the OR I had alot of stuff on me but the only thing I was worried about was my heart and I looked down at my heart it was beating good. I felt so good when I saw that. Now I feel so much better and I love the new heart I have. I just go to sleep and when I wake up I have a smile on my face. Everybody in my family is so proud of me and everybody say I'm a trooper. I just love them so much and everybody who helped me through this. I just wanna thank GOD for taking me through this and bringing me out and thats why for this halloween I'm going to be a angel so I can spread my wings on all the sick people. But I can't forget this I am good to go home this week.
